What does Boy Scouts and God Bless America have in common?

After Kate Smith made "God Bless America" popular in 1938, Irving Berlin signed over the money to the Boy Scouts and the Girl Scouts.

Flag Rules and Regulations

OPENING

Scout 1 - comes to front of room and gets the microphone from the Cub Master.

  1. Scout 1. "PLEASE STAND FOR THE FLAG CEREMONY"
  2. Scout 1. "CUB SCOUT SALUTE"
  3. Scout 1. "COLOR GUARD ADVANCE"
  4. When the flags are almost to the front of the room:
  5. Scout 1. "COLOR GUARD HALT"
  6. Scout 1. "PREPARE TO POST THE COLORS"
  7. US Flag Color Guard crosses the front of room as shown in diagram, then the Pack Flag.
  8. Scout 1. "POST THE COLORS"
  9. Scout 1. "PLEASE JOIN ME IN THE PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE"
  10. I Pledge Allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

  11. Scout 1. "TWO" [All scouts end salute.]
  12. Scout 1. "COLOR GUARD ABOUT FACE"
  13. Scout 1. "COLOR GUARD RETREAT"

 


CLOSING

Scout 1 - comes to front of room and gets the microphone from the Cub Master.

  1. The scouts reassemble in back of room - 2 rows.
  2. Scout 1. "WILL THE AUDIENCE PLEASE STAND"
  3. Scout 1. "COLOR GUARD ADVANCE"
  4. When the scouts are close to the front ....

  5. Scout 1. "COLOR GUARD HALT"
  6. Scout 1. "CUB SCOUT SALUTE"
  7. Scout 1. "COLOR GUARD, RETRIEVE THE COLORS"
  8. Scouts 2 and 3. walk up and take flags out of holders.  See diagram.
  9. Scout 1. "COLOR GUARD ABOUT FACE"
  10. Scouts 2 and 3. walk to the end row.  See diagram.
  11. Scout 1. "COLOR GUARD RETREAT"
  12. Scout 1. "TWO" [All scouts end salute.]
